Ms. Moomjian is a nursing and administrative professional with extensive experience in acute and long term care settings. She brings demonstrated expertise as a hospital and long term care administrator, nursing executive, and performance improvement specialist to her role as a consultant for Joint Commission Resources, Inc. (JCR) and Joint Commission International (JCI). Prior to consulting for JCR and JCI, she was a surveyor for The Joint Commission.
Ms. Moomjian has provided education and training programs both domestically and internationally in multiple areas of focus, including human resources and competency training, tracer methodology, accreditation information and preparation, patient safety, and performance improvement. She has also contributed to multiple Joint Commission publications including those related to staffing effectiveness and tracer methodology. Ms Moomjian has also piloted and assisted in the preparation of JCI’s International Standards for the Care Continuum.
Domestically, Ms. Moomjian provides consulting expertise for hospital, long term care, ambulatory and behavioral health accreditation programs, and also for disease-specific certification. She also provides focused consultation and training related to human resource related issues such as competency and staffing, and performance improvement related activities. She has provided multiple staff training programs related to implementation of the tracer survey process.
Internationally, Ms. Moomjian has provided consultation and training programs in multiple settings including hospital and care continuum. She has consulted and provided education and training for systems and health care organizations in multiple regions, including Europe, Central America, South America, the Mideast and the Pan-Asian countries. She provides consulting expertise in accreditation preparation and maintenance as well as to focused needs in both the hospital and care continuum settings. She has also provided staff training programs related to implementation of the tracer survey process.
Throughout her 35 years of experience in the health care industry, she has served as Vice President for Quality Management and Regulatory Affairs, Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, New Hyde Park, New York; Administrator, departments of Surgery and Urology, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New Hyde Park, New York; Coordinator, Renal Dialysis Program, University Hospital, Stony Brook, New York; and Head Nurse, Dialysis and Assistant Head Nurse, Intensive Care Unit, Booth Memorial Hospital, Flushing, New York. She also served on National Association for Healthcare Quality’s study guide task force editorial board for Guide to Quality Management, 7th ed.
Ms. Moomjian is a registered professional nurse and received her nursing diploma from Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing, New York; her bachelor of science from State University of New York; and her master’s in public administration, health care administration, from C.W. Post College, Long Island University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives (FACHE); and is also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ).
